Details: No garden is complete without carrots. Danvers Half Long is a wonderful heirloom variety with good old-fashioned taste. Developed in 1886 by market gardeners in Danvers, Mass. Market gardeners in Danvers, Massachusetts, developed this variety and shared it with Burpee in 1886. The root is a rich, dark orange and 6-8" long. Uniform interior color. Tender and very sweet, stores well and stays crisp. Packed with flavor and nutrients. Generous yields. Nearly coreless and great for canning. Outstanding in heavier soils and ideal variety for over-wintering. Blocky-topped, tapered roots chunk up nicely at 6-7 1/2 in. More-than-generous yields. Stores well and stays crisp.
